Inspiration Daily Sunday Read | Faith and Action by Tommy Shultz

Welcome to Inspiration Daily Sunday Read. Today we reflect on the power of faith and action. During Lent, we often think of the desert, where Jesus fasted for 40 days and where our ancestors in faith had to live off the land to survive.

In today’s First Reading, God asks Abram to leave everything he knows and go to an unknown land. Abraham fulfilled the definition of faith, believing in God without knowing the future. Today, we must ask ourselves, do we have faith like Abraham? Faith is a supernatural virtue that God freely gives us, and by praying and talking with God, we can strengthen our faith. God has a plan for each of us, and like Abraham, we must step out in faith, trusting in God’s love.

Inspiration Daily Sunday Read | The Tempting of The King
by Dr. Alexis Dellara-Marsh

Today, we will be exploring the story of Jesus’ temptation in the desert, as recounted in Matthew 4:1-11. In this story, Jesus faces three trials that challenge his trust in God and his identity as the Son of God.

As we reflect on this story, we are reminded that our lives are often filled with trials and temptations. We are called to trust in God and rely on His Word to guide us through difficult times. Lent, a time of prayer, fasting, and penance, strengthens our faith and deepens our relationship with God.

In “The Tempting of the King” by Alexis Dallara-Marsh, we see how Jesus resists the devil’s temptations by relying on Scripture and his unwavering trust in God. Through this story, we can learn to identify ourselves as children of God, beloved by Him and worthy of His love and grace. So let us open our hearts and minds to the Word of God as we dive into this powerful and inspiring story.

Inspiration Daily Sunday Read | A Reflection on Ash Wednesday
by Merridith Frediani

Today’s reflection, written by Merridith Frediani, reminds us of the true purpose of Lent – to draw closer to God by embracing the invitation into original solitude. As we begin our Lenten journey with Ash Wednesday, Merridith shares with us the power of giving alms, prayer, and fasting, not for the approval of others but for the reward of our Father in heaven.

Through this reflection, we are reminded that Lent is not just about giving up something or making a sacrifice but about turning our hearts towards God and embracing the challenge to grow deeper in our faith. So, let us heed the call to answer this invitation and embrace the transformative power of Lent. Let us allow God to work in our hearts by meeting Him in that secret place where it’s just Him and us. Let us now read Merridith Frediani’s reflection on Ash Wednesday.
