Inside myparish there are two things that work superbly together; Mass Times and MassMode™. Mass Times is simply the feature that lists your parish’s Mass times. Users can set reminders for Mass times of their choosing. They will get a push notification when that Mass is about to start.
MassMode™ is a function users can choose to turn on or off. MassMode will send a reminder to silence the phone when the user is in the vicinity of the parish. No more ringtones during Mass!

Communication Capabilities

If you have a bilingual parish, you can send messages in two different languages at the same time. You parishioners will receive only one message, in either English or Spanish.
There is another great way myParish serves bilingual communities. Spanish speaking users won’t have to search to switch the language setting from English to Spanish. The app’s language setting will default to the user’s language setting on their phone. This is one example of how an app can be built to utilize phone technology.
Make Sure They Hear you
Users can allow push notifications from myParish app. Your parishioners will be able to see messages and reminders without having to be in the app as they occur. This is standard in most apps. It should be standard for Catholic parish apps as well.
myParish gives you the option to form specific groups within your parish app. This allows you to message specific people updates. Group messaging takes the place of sending text messages or writing emails. Make communicating with specific ministries easier by using Groups.
Groups is private and secure. Users must create an account before using Groups. We designed it this way to protect users and make sure minors are protected.

In fact, myParish is built from the ground up using phone technology. We are a native built app. A native app is an app that is built to function optimally on one platform (in this case, smartphones). Many parish apps have been built as web-based apps. Web-based apps are essentially just web pages built to look and act like a mobile app. There are a few reasons why this is not ideal. Web apps typically are cheaper, don’t function as well, and move slower. Native apps run smoothly and efficiently because they work in tandem with the mobile device they are developed for.
