Pope Francis to Canonize Six People
On October 14, Pope Paul VI and Archbishop Oscar Romero, together with 4 other people of charity, will be canonized in St. Peter’s Square during the Synod of Bishops. The names of the Blessed are Pope Paul VI, Oscar Romero, Francesco Spinelli, Vincenzo Romano, Maria Katharina Kasper and Nazaria Ignacia.

Being a pope of dialogue, he wrote in
Ecclesiam Suam that he felt a vocation dialogue between the church and the world.
He also wrote Evangelii Nuntiandi, proclaiming that modern day people listen “more willingly to witnesses than to teachers, and if he does listen to teachers, it is because they are witnesses.”
Paul VI (Giovanni Battista Montini), Supreme Pontiff, will enter sainthood in October. Celebrate with a banner and matching bulletin cover!
Oscar Romero
Speaking out against assassinations, torture, social injustice, and poverty, Romero was assassinated on an altar while offering Mass.
Oscar Arnulfo Romero Galdámez, archbishop of San Salvador, martyr, will enter Sainthood on October 14.

Four others, two Italian priests and German and Spanish founders of separate women’s religious orders, will also be made saints at the ceremony.
