Welcome To ReFresh!

Welcome to a New Year, and a new in-house feature for our company! The strength of Diocesan Trinity Publications is that we are a company of talented, energetic people who are passionate about Catholic communications. Our departments share responsibilities for many products and services, some of which we’ve been doing since the company was established and many new. However, because our offices are geographically distant from each other, we don’t always get to hear news from within our company, about our work and co-workers.

Every month, the ReFresh newsletter will bring you company updates (focusing on a new product or service, for instance), educational pieces  that will help all of us understand different departments’ work, and pieces about the wonderful people we work with and those we serve.

Keep in mind that one month, we may feature a department or product you’re quite familiar with. However, there will be many employees of Diocesan Trinity Publications that will learn a lot from that piece. And the next month, there will be a piece we hope YOU will learn from.

Bulletins Under Cover

Helping churches create effective and visually-pleasing bulletins is the heart of our business. With talented graphic designers/artists in all five of our offices, offering beautiful cover art is a large part of what we do. The design team includes Kari DeBoer, Linda Simon and Jennifer Rutherford in Michigan; Adriana Moralic, Diane Vaughn and Armando Esparza in Texas; Brandon Williams in Florida; Mary Shows, Molly May and Tom Berryhill in Ohio; and Maggie Fawley in Pennsylvania.

“Beauty is the arrowhead of evangelization,” according to Bishop Robert Barron of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. While there are many technical parts of putting together a bulletin, having a beautifully designed cover is an important part of our work and the work of the Catholic Church. Imagine that bulletin on a family refrigerator: the cover acts as a “teachable moment” every time a person sees it. It’s a constant reminder of the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith.

Our Artists Were Busy!

In 2016, our artists created over 800 free bulletin covers for our customers to download. For the canonization of Mother Teresa in September of 2016, that team created 8 bulletin covers alone. That means the parishes we serve have a wonderful variety of art to choose from, according to their needs and aesthetic. Many of these designs are also used for our banners, prayer cards, and other products. Keep in mind, too, that we offer many of our products in both English and Spanish versions.

Of course, our graphic design team does much more than just bulletin covers. However, the fact that this team of talented people created more than 800  pieces of art for our bulletin customers in 2016 is remarkable, and it sets a high standard not only for this team, but for us as a company.

The most important part of the ReFresh newsletter is YOU. We want to know what your department is doing. What does day-to-day work look like for you? Is your department developing new products and/or services? Are the people in your department finding new ways to do the work you’ve been doing? Are there new people in your department? While this may seem like “old news” to you, remember that there are many in our company who don’t know this, and we want to keep everyone up-to-date on Diocesan Trinity Publication’s work and staff.

Occasionally, we’d also like to focus on individuals in our company: let us know about that person in your department who goes the extra mile, whose work really shines, or volunteers their time outside the office for a worthy cause.

Please share your news with the Marketing Department at marketing@diocesan.com You can also use the “Suggest Story” button below; we need to hear what you have to say about the work of each and every department in the Diocesan Trinity Publications organization. Don’t worry: you don’t have to write the story; we’ll get in touch with you and take it from there.

Enjoy this first ReFresh, and we invite you to share great company news in 2017!
