Welcome to the Diocesan Family
We are proud to partner with the Diocese of Helena to bring you Camino, Evangelus, and myParish App. These tools are meant to help you promote evangelization and discipleship in your parish. You probably have a lot of questions about this process and we are here to answer your questions and make the onboarding process smooth and effective. By working together we hope to help you build stronger communities and a renewed sense of mission within the Diocese of Helena. Thank you for all of the work you do for the Church and welcome aboard.
Phase 1: Learn about the software and communication suite
Before we contact you to start the onboarding process, it can be helpful to know what our products look like and how they function. Below you will find tutorial pages for Camino, Evangelus, and myParish App so you can start to explore and familiarize yourself with the features of each product.
Phase 2: Outreach and Onboarding
Diocesan will reach out to your staff to obtain a current backup of your data. We will check this data and make sure it translates correctly into Camino. Accuracy of data is of the upmost importance to us. We will ensure you start off with clean and accurate data which is crucial to your communication and evangelization efforts.
Phase 3: Training
Once you are onboarded, the Diocesan team will do a personal online training for your parish. In the meantime, you can watch this demo from The Cathedral of St. Helena to get even more familiarized with the product suite. In this demo we start with Camino, then do an overview of Evangelus and myParish App at the end. Once we contact you for the training we will get users created and walk through all the features you can use for your brand new database.
Phase 4: Ongoing Support and Evaluation
Our support team is standing by to help you with any questions. We are dedicated to ongoing training and support so that you can effectively communicate and evangelize using our product suite.
FAQ’s
What will the cost be?
The diocese is covering the cost for the first year. The parish cost will be $145/month after the first year. If a parish has budgetary concerns, the diocese will evaluate the parish contribution after the first year. The diocese may offer financial assistance where needed.
Will this be compatible with Our Sunday Visitor/Flocknote/PowerChurch/ParishSoft etc...?
This will replace most current database, financial, and communication software we are using.
What will the process be for changing online giving to the new system?
During the second phase once the giving site is set up, Vision2 will send emails out to all current members who are using online giving. The email will contain a link to a page already populated with most of their data. The member will then enter credit card data and submit the information.
Vision2 can continue sending emails to any users who have not yet entered their data until we are ~95% converted. At that time we can make some phone calls to engage remaining users and help them change to the new system.
Will this help us do volunteer scheduling?
No, Camino recommends Ministry Scheduler Pro as the best they’ve seen for this task.
What will happen with parishioners who are registered at two parishes?
We can notify the parishes of any duplicate households and determine the best solution. Households can be registered to different parishes, but the pastor may want to have clarity on who is registered at a parish and reach a resolution.
