Jesus tells the story of the Good Samaritan in today’s Gospel. As He concludes His conversation with the scholar of the law He asks, “‘Which of these three, in your opinion, was neighbor to the robbers’ victim?’ [the scholar] answered, ‘The one who treated him with mercy.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Go and do likewise.’”
What an incredible gift divine mercy is for my soul! There is no greater gift than Christ’s love for me, a poor sinner. God’s mercy far surpasses anything the human mind is capable of imagining; like the edges of the universe, its boundaries are limitless. Repeatedly I fall, yet there is beauty and glory in the fact that my Bridegroom, my Lord, waits for me so that He can offer forgiveness unlike any other. I am but a mere speck of dust, but to Him, I am ravishing.
Lord, help me be like You in sharing mercy with others. My heart is like stone, but You can melt it with a fire that sets the weakest spirit ablaze with new life. You grant peace, even after being denied, ridiculed, and abandoned. May I know your patience and compassion!
Christ, let me know your fervor, so that your sacrifice may never be in vain. With gratitude, help me to recognize You in everyone I encounter. Let me know your courage, to go to the depths of darkness to share a light that will never extinguish. May I grasp confidence in all your ways, that You always know what’s best for me, even when I struggle to understand the value of forgiving another.
Lord, through Your Mercy, we are reconciled to You so that we may belong to You once again. We become one in the Kingdom of God’s Glory. May we receive and extend Your mercy forever and always.

La misericordia de Dios sobrepasa increíblemente todo lo que la mente humana es capaz de imaginar; como los confines del universo, sus límites son infinitos. Caigo repetidamente, pero hay belleza y gloria en el hecho de que mi Esposo, mi Señor, me espera para ofrecerme un perdón como ningún otro. Soy solo una pizca de polvo, pero para Él, soy deslumbrante.
Señor, ayúdame a ser como Tú al compartir la misericordia con los demás. Mi corazón es como una piedra, pero Tú puedes derretirlo con un fuego que enciende el espíritu más débil con nueva vida. Tú concedes paz, incluso después de ser negado, ridiculizado y abandonado. ¡Que pueda conocer tu paciencia y compasión!
Cristo, hazme conocer tu fervor, para que tu sacrificio nunca sea en vano. Con gratitud, ayúdame a reconocerte en cada persona con la que me encuentre. Hazme conocer tu valentía al ir a las profundidades de la oscuridad y compartir una luz que nunca se extinguirá. Que pueda confiar en todos tus caminos, en que siempre sabes lo que es mejor para mí, incluso cuando me cuesta comprender el valor de perdonar a otro.
Señor, por tu Misericordia, nos reconciliamos contigo para que podamos pertenecer a Ti de nuevo. Nos convertimos en uno en la Gloria del Reino de Dios. Que recibamos y extendamos tu misericordia por siempre.
